We are delighted to introduce you to Oryx, the subject of the winning photo in our Safe, Happy Cat Photo Contest! Thanks to everyone who submitted.

We were a bit delayed in our announcement of the winner. Oryx’s owner Brenna Barlow lives in Calgary, and was off helping to rescue pets from the fires in Fort McMurray.

Brenna asked if it would be possible to trade Oryx’s prize for cash so she could donate it to the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society. Our wonderful prize sponsor, Pets Plus Us, decided to make the donation in her name, and send her the basket as well, since it’s so very well-deserved! How great is that!!! Thanks to Pets Plus Us for their generosity.

It was not an easy decision. We received hundreds of photos of safe, happy cats. Here’s a sampling of some that made us laugh ….
