June 23rd saw the release of a sneak peek at Margaret Atwood’s forthcoming novel, Angel Catbird. First released on Buzzfeed, the story rapidly spread all over the internet as fans expressed their enthusiasm..
In the news release from publisher Dark Horse, Atwood says, “I grew up in the 1940s drawing comics, and I’ve continued: I even drew a strip in the 1970s. So what better way to explore cat/bird interactions and the welfare of both than through a flying catbird superhero?”
The graphic novel tells the story of a superhero born of a car crash involving our hero, a cat and an owl. The sneak peak reveals that the crash was not an accident, giving a tantalizing glimpse of the conflict to come.
